In one of my articles we considered the fact that the levels of General Knowledge for Primary aged children were pretty poor!
So now I am going to ask the question :-
“Do the children in your class know what is happening in the world around them?”

We’ve discussed your class taking assembly, but what about the time when YOU are asked to take an assembly – how confident are you in doing this and do you have to do it?
Legally there has to be some form of daily collective worship in schools and this takes the form of assemblies in the majority of schools.
We all will experience this from time to time in our teaching careers – if you’re new to teaching and this hasn’t happened yet – it will…..so how do we deal with this and how should you react?
If you have a classroom in a newly built school you may find that your walls, although painted are simple breezeblock – totally faceless and quite cold looking.
It may sound like a small attention to detail but it’s not – the way you dress for your interview influences the way the interview panel sees you.
Parents evenings are an integral part of the school calendar – will happen a couple of times each year and something you will have to get used to.
So how should you approach a Parents evening and what sort of things will happen?
One of the great things about teaching is the interaction that occurs between the teacher and the class. Together we share the ups and downs of daily life both in and out of the classroom and there is a strong bond that develops between the children and the class teacher.
Lets firstly look at the message that this poll sends:
Firstly the question….”Do you think the current Primary Curriculum is fit for purpose?”
Let me start by saying that this does not happen very often – but it does occur and can occur and it helps if you know how to approach the situation.
