We’ve spoken about the types of boards that usually appear in classrooms so lets look at things in a little more depth.
We’ve spoken about the types of boards that usually appear in classrooms so lets look at things in a little more depth.
As promised – I mentioned in my post about arranging your classroom that I would put something about the use of a teachers desk….so here are my thoughts!
NOW THIS IS AN INTERESTING ARTICLE THAT RECENTLY APPEARED – TAKE A LOOK AND IF YOU FEEL IT’S USEFUL SHARE IT WITH YOUR MANAGEMENT TEAM AND SEE WHAT THEY THINK
Teachers are spending too much time over-marking pupils’ homework, Schools Standards Minister Nick Gibb has said.
He told MPs that marking in different-coloured pens, and giving feedback in exercise books, had never been a government or an Ofsted requirement.
Planning your term goes in 3 stages and it doesn’t matter which type of system your school uses – you should make your thought patterns work in this way.
Raising Expectations
This is the next stage in our classroom management strategy – up to this point we have sorted out the desks and who will be sitting where – based on what we know about the children.
We have then appointed monitors to help with systems around the class which means that things work smoothly and more often than not quicker.
Board fillers and wow displays !
You’ve looked at your room and seen where the display boards are located and also the sizes – so now you have to decide what the purpose and focus for each board is to be.
In this article I am going to give you a brilliant tip on how to wow the class and really introduce or reinforce your topic…..it also works well on ANY size board. So if you have a huge board then this will help you out also……smiles all round really.
Take a look at your Classroom after you have set out all the desks, library area, mats and all the other essentials that you need.
Firstly look at the walls – do you have display boards….where are they and how big are they??
I finished the previous article with the phrase….
“The basic requirement of behaviour management in your Class is organisation.”
and that’s where we start today.
Todays article gives you an initial step into creating an organised environment in your Classroom – its easy, simple and can be implemented at any time in the school year – so if you haven’t got this working and you think you would like to give it a try (which I recommend) then you can do this now.
Ok here we go….Classroom behaviour and how to set up systems and manage situations.
This is going to be the first in a short series of blogs on this subject but let me say from the outset that there is no silver bullet, no one strategy that I can give you that you can use across the board that is a “one size fits all” success.
Ask that question and you will without doubt get detailed and involved answers mostly I would guess based around politically correct statements!
In fact it could even be an exam question or a study question at University – the answers can be so involved and convoluted !
